LUCKNOW: Imagine a multitude of men, women and children waiting patiently for the one moment when they will be close to... divinity. Imagine the peace and calmness that fills you as a divine guru arrives amidst thronging mortals to help them search for happiness.
No expression could capture well enough, the feeling when Sri Sri Ravishankar arrived at the Colvin Taluqdars'' College for the Anandotsava.
As the resounding claps mingled with soulful bhajans, the euphoric crowd ascended to almost another level of existence. A stage where nothing but sheer bliss could be experienced.
Sri Sri Ravishankar, the propounder of the ''Art of Living'' course was in the City of Nawabs enthralling a huge audience with his philosophy and oration. In his serene voice, he explained to the audience, the way of life that would lead to happiness.
"We often ask the people who love us, to prove their love. It would be tiresome if you had to prove your feelings to someone," said the Sri Sri. As if to explain, he said: "We must not question someone''s love, but simply accept it."
"There are some who are intellectuals and would not believe anything that belongs to the realm of emotion. Their''s is a life very dull," said Sri Sri Ravishankar.
Taking this point further he said, "There are also some who are over emotional and hence, they too destroy their lives. There must be a balance between intellect and emotions, for a fulfilling life".
"Think of when you were a kid, walking on a crowded platform holding your father''s finger, and suddenly you lost your grip and were all alone. That is what I felt when my wife fell ill after she consumed medicine that was past it''s expiry date. I felt helpless until I took the name of Sri Sri, and then all was fine," said Arvind.
The session concluded with meditation, and as the audience shut their eyes, it seemed they slipped into a surreal realm where silence hovered over as a calm descended over all. Punctuated only, by the soothing voice of Sri Sri Ravishankar.
